Akabane

Kita-ku

Redeveloped Town, Akabane

Akabane is located in the north of Tokyo. It is gathering attention as a place where people can live with comfort.

First of all, you can go to the central area quickly. With train, it takes only 30 minutes to Tokyo station and 15 minutes to Shinjuku station.

Also, there are many shops that sell reasonably-priced goods. The station has been renovated and there is a big shopping mall just in front of the station. There is a shopping street crossing east and west of the station. Many restaurants are cheap and delicious, and commodities are easy to get. These are the reasons why people feel comfortable living there.

Last but not least, there is a river called ""Arakawa"" near the station and people usually enjoy barbecuing, jogging, or cycling. Arakawa is famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms, so people also enjoy watching them in spring.

5% of foreigners in Japan, which is about 16939 people (as of July 1, 2015), live in the north area of Tokyo, which includes Akabane. Many Chinese, Korean and people from Southeast Asia live there and there are a lot of houses that are sold especially to foreigners.
